We are so excited to share with you the newest show from Cirque du Soleil, TORUK- The First Flight! We have seen a few Cirque shows over the years and have always left astonished by how incredibly interesting and artful each show is. Between costumes, story line, music, and acrobatics, there is something for everyone! Some friends of ours went to the show last night on behalf of NHIE and said the show was amazing!

The mission of Cirque du Soleil is to excite the imagination, provoke the senses and evoke the emotions of people around the world. The show is part of a global tour in arenas around the world. It just came off of shows in Miami and has been gaining tons of exposure and press during its tour in the U.S.! Visa Signature® is the main sponsor, allowing all of the amazing costumes, art, and action to happen.

What makes this show different than all of the other Cirque shows is that this new touring show is inspired by James Cameron’s record-breaking movie AVATAR.  TORUK – The First Flight is a mythical tale set thousands of years before the events depicted in the film AVATAR, and before any humans ever set foot on Pandora. Here’s  short synopsis of the show: “When a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls, Ralu and Entu, two Omaticaya boys on the brink of adulthood, fearlessly decide to take matters into their own hands. Upon learning that Toruk can help them save the Tree of Souls, they set out, together with their newfound friend Tsyal, on a quest high up in the Floating Mountains to find the mighty red and orange predator that rules the Pandoran sky.” Without ruining the ending, you will have to go see the show to find out if the boys are able to save the sacred Tree of Souls.
