So Friday was a day off for this South Tampa teacher (THUMBS UP). So naturally, late Thursday night, a lightbulb went off in my head. A day off means… BRUNCH OPPORTUNITY (DOUBLE thumbs up)!!
The Brunchery is located at 3225 S. Macdill Ave in Tampa. It has been serving up delicious dishes since 1985 (the decor brings you back to that time). I don’t mind the style inside (it reminds me of my grandma’s place) because the food packs quite the punch! I met with a friend around 10:30am on Friday, and we had zero wait time. We sat and within a minute or two, a waitress came over and took our drink orders.
I spent most of my time contemplating what I wanted to eat. NORMALLY, I am a big mexican breakfast guy, so naturally I was intrigued by the “Tex Mex ULTIMATE OMELETTE”. But then I thought, HMMM, I’m here at the Brunchery without my NHIE Crew. What would they order if they were here? And that’s when I set my eyes on the “Brunchery Benedict’s”. If you know ANYTHING about Ryan and brunch, you know that he LOVES a well- cooked benedict. Now my trouble was, WHICH ONE DO I GET? I immediately threw out any of the dishes that have seafood in them (You’ll come to learn that I’m not the biggest seafood person) narrowing down my options to three:
1. Brunchery Benedict* Poached eggs on toasted Eng. muffin with ham, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and hollandaise $8.49
2. Eggs Florentine Poached eggs on toasted English muffin with spinach, tomato, bacon, and hollandaise $8.49
3. Bayshore Benedict Fresh croissant with scrambled eggs and Cheddar cheese, topped with bacon, tomato slices, with hollandaise $8.59
When the waitress came to take our order, I got flustered and asked for ONE MORE MINUTE! When she came back, I made my choice and went with….

Let me just say…this meal did NOT DISAPPOINT! The hollandaise was creamy, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the potatoes were overflowing off of the plate (as you can see). My only criticism would be that the english muffin could have been toasted a bit more. All in all, it was a delicious meal. The service was speedy and pleasant and the whole meal including tip was only 12 bucks!
BTW, I was going to apologize for the delayed post, but then I got an AWESOME email from LivingSocial today…FEATURING THE BRUNCHERY!
Click the link here to check out the SWEEET DEAL! I would definitely recommend it, seeing that I now have an excuse to treate my co-bloggers back to a meal on me at The Brunchery! Just don’t tell them I bought a coupon 😉
