Hey guys! As you all know, we have been spending a lot more time at home and that has been an adjustment to say the least. What has been great though, is getting to enjoy all of the new updates we have made since buying our new home. Before we moved in, we knew there were a few small projects that we wanted to tackle to make the space a bit more unique. Cue…our favorite designer, Charlie Schiller and Cement Tile Shop!
Disclaimer: As part of a partnership with Cement Tile Shop we were gifted the tile for this project in exchange for this blog post and social media love. All opinions are our own.
Charlie is a long time friend and talented designer who we tapped to help bring some new life to our blank canvas of a home. When it came to the powder room, we knew we wanted to do something a bit more funky since it’s a small, hidden space.
Cement Tile shop is actually a national brand, but we didn’t know that at first. We have some friends who recently moved to Seminole Heights and on our way to their place a few months back, we passed the Seminole Heights shop and decided to look them up on Instagram. Scrolling their page, you’ll see tons of fun patterned tiles, many of which are being used at local restaurants and bars to bring a pop of color and pattern. We searched their site and found some patterns we really liked. After chatting with Charlie, we decided on a colorway and then we were all set.
Next, the walls! We really wanted to make this something unexpected, so we were on the hunt for something BOLD! Charlie found us this cool and funky option and when it was installed, we almost died. We LOVE how it turned out! Don’t you agree?
Then, we swapped out our builder’s grade pedestal sink for a clean and modern vanity. Adding matte black finishes on the handles, faucet, toilet paper bar and towel ring, brought all of the pieces together. Charlie finished the look off with a gold rimmed oval mirror with 60s mod style sconces on either side. We grabbed a rattan trash basket and a nice large black scented candle for the back of the toilet, and we were ready to go!
We can’t wait for our friends to come see it in person. Is it weird that we enjoy spending time in there? We think Dex agrees! Ahahah.
