Memorial Day Weekend 2017 came and went, but not without an awesome time for us here in Tampa! We once again, turned up the volume on our speakers, tuned in to our #SMFTampa Spotify Playlist, and got down at Sunset Music Festival!
For the past few years, we have been enjoying all of the music and fun at SMF Tampa and we couldn’t be more excited for this year’s event. So we donned our festival gear, packed up a bag, applied some glitter, and headed over to Raymond James Stadium for the big festivities.
We know from previous years how hot it can get, so we were sure to dress the part and stay hydrated throughout the day to keep our energy up and our dancing going all weekend long! The festival has three stages, two smaller stages, Eclipse and Horizon, and one main stage, Sunset.
We spent a large chunk of our weekend at Sunset Stage because of the headliners we were so excited to see, but we did venture to the other stages to enjoy the newer, upcoming artists as well. Some highlights from Saturday definitely included San Holo, Tritonal, RL Grime, and the closer, Major Lazer (who performed at Coachella last year).
Day Two, Sunday, was awesome and definitely our favorite of the two-day event! We got so close to the stage during Kungs set and then followed that up with dancing to Louis the Child, Yellow Claw (Ryan’s current fave), and the Sunday closer, Above and Beyond.
Sunday was not to be outdone thanks in large part to the afterparty hosted at The Ritz in Ybor late into the night. We stopped home to freshen up after the festival and headed straight for The Ritz to see Yellow Claw bring down the house! The show was phenomenal and the energy was one for the record books. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend #MDW2017. We had quite the squad to enjoy the weekend with and with some great music to dance to, we really had ourselves quite the party. Until next year #SMFTampa…
