We recently attended a fantastic dinner inside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at Council Oak Steaks and Seafood. The dinner was hosted by actor and TV host, John O’Hurley and featured delicious creations from Chefs Bill Gideon, Dave Puatu, Michael Balles and Stephan Schubert. A portion of the proceeds raised from the dinner helped support the Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla Community Fund, which was established to benefit the community in times of need.
Thanks to an invite from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, we had the opportunity to enjoy this event in exchange for some social media love and a blog post. All opinions are my own.
The dinner had four courses and each course was paired perfectly with a nice glass of wine. The menu below made for a delicious evening as we ate our way from 1st to last course.
Course 1: Cobb Salad with a Fall Twist
Course 2:Traditional Lobster Boil
Course 3: Bourbon Infused Dry Aged Bone- In Rib Eye
Course 4: Duo of Desserts
Although all of the food was over the top, the two best things we had during the dinner were the fall twist on the Cobb Salad and the bone-in rib eye. The toasted pine nuts and the spiced pork belly gave just the right crunch and flavor combo to set this Cobb apart from any other we have had before. And even though we are filet mignon fellas, the rib eye was so tender and did not even need a knife to cut through it. With the amount of amazing food they served during courses 1 through 3, it is hard to believe the 4th course was about to be served!
Obviously, we saved room for dessert when we saw what they were preparing! The dish included a duo of cakes: one was a chocolate mousse cake and the other was a vanilla gooey butter cake. It was the perfect combo for Ryan and I to share. It was just the right balance of chocolate and vanilla and we dug right in as soon as it hit the table!

After dinner, we had the opportunity to meet Mr. John O’ Hurley himself. If he looks familiar, which he should, it is probably because you have seen him in shows like Seinfeld, Dancing with The Stars, Family Feud, and The Annual Purina National Dog Show every year airing on Thanksgiving Day. It was great to chat with him and thank him for hosting the evening for such a great cause.
Now for those who love a reason other than the great food and games at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Casino Tampa, they will be unveiling a new state of the art poker room on Thursday, January 12, at 11:30 a.m.
And to celebrate the opening of the new poker room, comedian Brad Garrett, best known for having played the role of Robert in Everybody Loves Raymond, will be doing a ceremonial guitar smash before the new venue opens to the public.
Following the ceremonies, SHR Tampa will present Garrett with a $10,000 check for the charity of his choice, Maximum Hope Foundation, which offers urgent financial relief to families caring for a child with a life-limiting illness.
So find an excuse to sneak on over to Seminole Hard Rock Tampa to see ALL of the great things they have going on. You won’t be disappointed.
