We were invited out to visit Amalie Arena and the Give and Grub Food Truck last year to learn about the amazing things they are doing in our community. Check it out here. That experience was not only delicious, but also eye opening. Sponsored by The Laser Spine Institute and in partnership with The Tampa Bay Lightning and Feeding Tampa Bay, Give and Grub provides gourmet meals to many paying customers around town. The best part is, they HAD a broader mission: to help feed the hungry by providing 150,000 free meals to people in need living in Tampa Bay.
It’s so exciting to announce that after less than a year, they reached their goal!
Not only does the food truck have an awesome, LOCAL cause — helping to feed the Tampa Bay community — but it also serves up really great food. The gourmet menu items are chosen based on some of the Tampa Bay Lightning organization members’ favorite foods.
Here’s the latest menu offered at Give And Grub:
STAMMER’S THUNDER STEAK SANDWICH
Grilled steak, smoked Gouda cheese, onions and mushrooms served on a freshly baked roll with your choice of pairing
BAJA BISH TACOS
Mahi-mahi, red sea slaw, cotija cheese, fresh pico de gallo, lime zest, Sriracha glaze, flour tortilla
CALLAHAN’S CUBAN
La Segunda Bakery Cuban bread, slow-roasted pork, pit ham, salami, Swiss cheese, homemade thin pickles and mustard with your choice of pairing
COACH COOP’S COBB
Rotisserie chicken, arugula and baby greens, crumbled blue cheese, diced tomatoes, hard-boiled egg, hickory bacon, avocado, choice of Dijon mustard vinaigrette or buttermilk ranch
HEDMAN’S GOAL BOWL
Grilled chicken, mojito lime rice, black beans, grilled vegetables, Monterey Jack cheese, fresh pico de gallo, greens, jalapeño vinaigrette
THE TRIPLETS’ SAUCER PASS SLIDERS
Mango-infused, slow-smoked barbecue pork, topped with Kansas City slaw and fried onions on in-house baked bread with your choice of pairing
CROSS-CHECK SWEET POTATO FRIES
A shareable portion of sweet potato waffle fries topped with sea salt, marshmallow and butterscotch drizzle
SIDE MAC & CHEESE
Macaroni and cheese made with cavatappi pasta and creamy Boursin cheese
Last time we visited, we chose the Hat Trick Chicken Sliders, Hedman’s Steak Tacos, and the Slap Shot Chicken Salad. So this time, it was easier to decide since it wasn’t our first rodeo. I opted for Callahan’s Cuban with a side of Cross-Check Sweet Potato Fries and Ryan went for the Stammer’s Thunder Steak Sandwich with a heaping side of Mac & Cheese.
Just like last time… BEWARE: The portions from the food truck are HUGE! They definitely do NOT disappoint when it comes to flavor and feeling full.As always, the food was delicious and left us with to go boxes for lunch later in the week. It could be worse 😉
With all of the other great options on the menu and the constant changing of items, we are looking forward to catching the truck again at Amalie Arena on Thursday and Saturday Home Games. You can also check the “Locate Us” page on their website to find them in other locations.
