Its Friday! Around here that usually means lunch out of the office… well who am I kidding, I frequent lunch more than I should, it just feels better on Friday! When the Taco Tuesday line was out the door, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to try something new. Steel City Brewhouse has been on my radar since construction on Roosevelt and Gandy began and now I am glad I had the chance to test the menu.
From the outside it resembles a cookie cutter sports bar but the menu inside sets it apart. Most menu items are made onsite… everything from baking the bread to cutting the french fries to the homemade chili and more.
I indulged in a turkey burger with all the fixin’s including the garlic mayo along with a side of fresh cut sweet potato fries and honey dipping sauce. It was pleasantly tasty! Turkey burgers tend to be dry and tasteless because they are usually an “added” menu item because someone may ask, however Steel City took the time to build a flavorful recipe.
I will be back to test out some other menu items and hopefully you will stop in for a hearty lunch.
Today, June 13, is their Official Grand Opening so head down from 4-8pm for free food, giveaways and more. You can also sip on some local beer or liquor from their full bar.
