It’s true we find the most random things to do in Tampa, but this Saturday may be the most random of them all. We’ll be attending Tampa Muay Thai’s Bangkok Bash. The event will serve as their grand re-opening in their new location at 810 N. Howard Ave. I’ve only been to the muay thai gym once but have never seen an actual fight so this will be a first for all of us. The night will feature 8 fights plus a pro exhibition so we will definitely get to see some fight action and wrap our heads around the rules. In addition to the fights that are going on there will be authentic Thai food being sold on location. There will also be merchandise and beverages for sale during the fights as well. A portion of the proceeds from those sales, along with those of the tickets, will benefit Rugaz Rescue, Inc. The mission of Rugaz Rescue is to “foster and re-home abused, neglected, and abandoned pit bulls that are scheduled for euthanasia”. Their motto is “we should be fighting for them” -what an appropriate motto for the night. After the fights are over the party continues at Irish 31 where your fight ticket will get you a free domestic draft when you show it. Tickets to the fights are just $25 in advance and $30 at the door. You can visit tampamuaythai.com for more information or to purchase tickets. See ya there!
